Founded in 1988, Northwood & Associates is a successful private investigation company with an emphasis on professionalism, confidentiality and quality control.

Each and every member of the Northwood & Associates' team is highly motivated and results oriented. Numbered among our employees are former law enforcement officers, IT specialists and researchers. Northwood & Associates has built a strong team of experts with a proven ability to provide the most discreet and detailed investigation
reporting in the industry.

Our investigators, many with strong previous experience, complete a rigorous training
program. And, with an emphasis on continuing education through seminars and accredited programs, we are able to improve and expand on the services we provide.

Mark Northwood, Director, has been licensed as a Private Investigator since 1982 and established Northwood & Associates Inc. in 1988. Recognized as an expert within the industry, he has been a regular speaker at seminars and symposiums across the country.

Mark has conducted assignments in countries spanning five continents, North & South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. He is a member of a number of Worldwide Private Investigation Associations and has served on the Ethics Committee and as Vice President for the Council of Private Investigators of Ontario.

James McNamee, Vice President, Operations and Privacy Policy Officer has been licensed as a Private Investigator since 1986.

James possesses a wide range of experience, involving all aspects of insurance claim investigations that include, but are not limited to, property casualty claims, contestable and accidental death claims investigations, and claimant interviews for life and health insurers. He has personally handled investigations throughout Canada, the United States, Europe and Africa.

Acting as the Operations Manager since 1992, he is responsible for co-ordinating investigations throughout Canada.

James subscribes to the belief that there is an investigative solution for many of the problems currently faced by insurers and corporations alike.

Vince Giorno, Investigations Supervisor, has been licensed as a Private Investigator since 1993.

In his current capacity, he directly oversees surveillance investigators and specializes in all aspects of insurance investigations including, financial backgrounds, locates, priority coverage and witness interviews. Mr. Giorno has also handled matters throughout Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.

Vince is a former Police Officer with the York Regional Police Service and has vast knowledge on criminal matters and procedures.

James Meadway, Manager, Investigation Services, has been licensed as a Private Investigator since 1988. After gaining experience in the corporate and insurance industries, he relocated to Europe where he worked extensively for major pharmaceutical companies on intellectual property matters, on a global basis. James then moved to Africa where he continued to work in the corporate and intellectual property fields. In September 2006, James returned to Canada and Northwood & Associates with whom he had worked previously and maintained a working relationship over the years. James also has experience in security, anti hi-jacking, counter industrial espionage, risk assessment and other areas vital to companies with interests in the third world and politically unstable regions.

In addition, Northwood & Associates develops and maintains a strong liaison with many other experts including chartered accountants, banking experts, financial analysts, audit professionals, civil engineers, handwriting and breathalyzer analysts, and forensic experts. Contacts have been established and maintained with various government agencies, as well as local and national authorities.
